Dewatering

About Dewatering

Dewatering is a system to control the level of the water. The need for dewatering is in order to execute engineering works in dry conditions at a wet environment. The most common technique of dewatering is by wells together with pumping system. The pumped water can be either rejected back to the soil or directed to a various drainage systems.

Advantage of the system

Dewatering system allows performing various engineering works in areas that once was inaccessible due to the existence of water.

Requirements for the system

In order to build a dewatering system, hydrologist and soil consultant has to examine the site. A hydrologist has to design the system according to the parameters of the soil. The design will include number of wells, the parameters of each well the pumping rate etc.
